Mission: To educate and improve the experience of aging for mature adults and their caregivers.

About Diane Keefe

Diane Keefe is a professional Geriatric Care Manager who has a breadth of experience working with all kinds of different situations with older adults.

This website was designed out of a desire to help aging adults and their caregivers by providing education and sharing experiences.  Ms. Keefe had a mother who had Alzheimer’s disease.  She and her brother experienced what many families do when they have a family member with this debilitating disease.  They were unprepared for the challenges ahead.  After their mother passed, Ms. Keefe pursued a Masters in Gerontology and opened a practice to help older adults.  She received her Care Manager Certified designation in 2009.  She also served as a hospice volunteer for Heartland Hospice.

Ms. Keefe hosted a weekly talk show with over 90 interviews, Caring for Parents Together, in which she interviewed caregivers and professionals in the field of aging about topics affecting aging and caregiving on www.blogtalkradio.com/dianekeefe/.  Listeners can access an interview by visiting the website or the show page and clicking on the link to any of the past shows.  That means the content of the show is available when the caregiver needs it.

Ms. Keefe wrote Blueprint for Care/A Practical Guide to Managing Care for Your Loved One with an accompanying workbook.  The book acts as a reference guide on issues of caregiving and the workbook provides a non-emotional means to collect the information required to be an advocate for an older adult through end of life.

Ms. Keefe is past President of the Mid-East Area Agency on Aging Foundation.  She speaks about dementia issues for the Alzheimer’s Association and is a member of Breakthrough Coalition, a consortium of over 350+ agencies dealing with older adults in the St. Louis area.  She is also a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, Show Me Falls Free Missouri Coalition and the Gateway End of Life Coalition. In her spare time, Ms. Keefe volunteers to visit seniors in residential communities through LSS Senior Connections program.

Though Ms. Keefe is semi-retired, she stays involved and active in community organizations serving seniors and speaking to caregivers. She keeps the website as a resource to the many selfless caregivers who need inspiration and advice.
