Driver Assessment for Older Adults
By: Diane Keefe, Geriatric Care Manager
Are you concerned about your parent’s driving safety and that of others around them? Are you having difficulty talking to your parents about their driving?
Driver Assessment for Older Adults ( 1 hour webinar) and Assessment Tool guides you and your loved one into thinking about the time when they may not be able to drive any longer.
They explore options to driving retirement and talk about their fears regarding not being able to drive.
This assessment was developed through the University of Missouri St. Louis via Dr. Tom Meuser, Univ. of Missouri St. Louis, and Dr. Marla Weger, St. Louis University, through a grant from the Missouri Foundation for Health. It has been tested on many older adults.
Some older adults after the assessment decide that they should no longer be driving and take themselves off the road. Others begin planning for the time they will not be driving. Some will have to be tested by a certified driver assessment professional.
